Ready, set, ship!

P4290044 All ready to ship on Tuesday, the package for my sockapaloooza pal. I've included a couple of little extras such as a nice french apricot soap, a magnet, a little notebook I got a MAIDO( a Japanese stationary store) and the leftover sock yarn and the pattern I used for her socks, Oh and the finished socks of course!.

I even made a little sock sleeve see: Socklabel_1 I hope she likes them and I hope they fit good. The yarn was a pleasure to work. This was fun and I did not get crazy or stressed trying to finish them. I took my time and enjoyed the process.

I'm all done with two pairs of socks in this knit along, her are the two pics.

Dyeorama

Yup! I joined, and I don't know squat about dyeing yarn, I'm sure I will learn as I go. I will definitely try to get a skein of self striping sock yarn in my pal's colors. Wish me luck!

Big socks!

I finisP4170002hed these on saturday just in time for Easter, he wore them on Sunday and he's very happy! I am too. Idon't know why but the ribbing part seemed to take forever to knit, maybe it was the yarn change or the gloomy weather, who knows. The picture is not to great, I'll post one with them on his feet later this week.

I've also been thinking about joining the Pomatomus knitlalong and using this yarn for the P4170004socks! I want to do sooo much, but the time left after work and kids it's way tooo short! Darn it!!

Birthdays & Anniversaries

P4140024 Looky looky!! This is what my hubby got me for my birthday and wedding anniversary, my birthday is April 5th and we got married on April 6th 15 years ago, I can't believe how time is passing by.   This is my brand spankin new iPod video (60G) See I've already downloaded a bunch of the knitting pod casts and I must say they are all very different and interesting, and the nice thing about pod casts is that you don't need an pod to listen to them which I didn't know until I visited and listened to some of the shows and web sites, you can save to your computer and listen. Oh well I'm happy!

Now onto knitting news, My socks for the Cirque Du Socks knit along are going to be my husbands anniversary socks, I'm almost finished and I knitted them on size 1 US circulars, These socks are the biggestP4140017 sock I've ever knitted, his shoe size is 13 and he has BIG feet, In the picture below you can see how much bigger than my socks his are. the foot of the sock is 12" long from toe to heel, I ran out of yarn for the ribbing part of it but It's OK, I found a gray solid sock yarn to finish. They should be done this weekend just in time for Easter, I hope he likes them and wears them since every stitch represents my love for him.

Flash your stash

Sock_stash Nope! this is not all people, I did not sign up for Flash your stash but I did go looking around to see what people have, and after that I feel sooo much better!

Here I was thinking I had too much yarn and it's kinda nice to realize I "don't have a problem" ha-ha! I must admit my weakness is sock yarn, all kinds; and let's face it with so many free patterns now available all over the place I just need to knit every chance I get or seriously cut my sleep hours by half. ;)

I hated the socks from the multicolor yarn, the colors did not work for me so bye bye into the frog pond.... Instead I started some new projects, I love this book and the way the shawls are constructed, this is the first knitted shawl that I'm making, I was intimidated by it and by reading the charts, but after taking the lace class from Nathania over at Commuknity I felt ready for the challenge Success at last! I'm very happy how this is turning out and also that I can use all the yarn I bought! Wanna see a pic? Here you go:Dsc00839
